What is acupuncture? How does it work?qin12

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing by inserting needles at very precise points within meridians (energy channels in the body). The acupuncture needles can trigger the release of chemicals and hormones leading to improved immune and energy function.

What are the needles? Do they hurt?

Acupuncture needles are very thin. The point is smooth (not hollow with cutting edges like in hypodermic needles). Most patients feel no pain as the needles are inserted: some just feel minimal pinching or pain. In any case, if you experience any discomfort, it is usually mild.

Are acupuncture needles clean and safe?

We use sterilized, individually packaged, disposable needles. This eliminates the possibility of transmitting a communicable disease by contaminated needles. The depth of needles depends upon the location of the points selected. Usually, needles are inserted from ¼ to 1 inch in depth.

What is Chinese herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine is mainstream within Chinese medicine. Each patient may be prescribed individualized formulas, which will maximize flexibility and fits each person’s condition.

What is Chiropractic care?

Chiropractic is a health care and pain relief technique based on proper spinal motion and nervous system function. Through normal wear and tear on the body or because of injury, spinal joints can become restricted or inflamed. This causes interference with and irritation or nerve roots exiting the spine, which causes pain and other health problems. By providing gentle manipulation to these joints, a chiropractic physician decreases these restrictions and inflammation, restoring nerve function and spinal motion. This relieves pain and restored normal function. Chiropractic works best when dome along with acupuncture and physical therapy strengthening program in restoring optimal health.
